Simone Hurst
(Principal VAT Consultant)

Simone has a background in HM Customs & Excise where she worked as a VAT Control Officer. After taking a valuable break from VAT, Simone went on to establish and manage a VAT Practice for a firm of accountants in the North of England, before returning to Birmingham to work for a "Big 4" firm.

Her experience with VAT is enhanced with a commercial awareness and empathy gained whilst managing a number of cash orientated service businesses between her Customs service and returning to the VAT fold.

Les Howard
Senior Consultant

Les started his career in VAT back in 1983 working for HM Customs & Excise before establishing and managing a VAT division within a management consultancy. More recently Les has made various contributions to technical journals and he regularly writes for Butterworths Devoil Indirect Tax Service. His main specialism is the motor trade.

Iestyn spent 25 years with HM Customs & Excise, 5 in Customs and 20 as a VAT officer. With an eye for detail, Iestyn specialises in VAT accounting and forensic work.
