Simone Hurst
(Principal VAT Consultant)

Simone has a background in HM Customs & Excise where she worked as a VAT Control Officer. After taking a valuable break from VAT, Simone went on to establish and manage a VAT Practice for a firm of accountants in the North of England, before returning to Birmingham to work for a "Big 4" firm.

Her experience with VAT is enhanced with a commercial awareness and empathy gained whilst managing a number of cash orientated service businesses between her Customs service and returning to the VAT fold.

Paul Taylor
(Senior VAT Consultant)

With a varied background, Paul has worked within HM Customs & Excise as a VAT Inspector, for a "Big 4" firm of accountants, for a medium tier firm of accountants and in industry.

Paul can take on board a full picture of any VAT issue, providing sound technical and commercial advice.

Paul was the European Indirect Taxation Manager for a European group of companies and has experience in meeting the VAT compliance regulations of a number of EU Member States.

Paul has experience in representing Clients at Tribunal and has a working knowledge of HM Revenue & Customs' treatment of mobile phone dealers, casinos and race tracks.
